2 Weeks Ago Today

Michael has a wonderful teacher at school, Miss Anna. Recently she started working on the big task of potty training. Since he only goes twice a week there wasn't much consistency especially since I didn't really help much mostly because I didn't expect it to happen until after he turned 3. Miss Anna was working so hard to help him accomplish this. So, 2 weeks ago, I decided to throw caution to the wind and let him run around the house in big boy underwear. And you know what? It worked! Miss Anna was right. He was ready. He knows when he has to go and he knows to tell me. He was SO excited to get these......

He has worn big boy underwear everyday since. I am so proud of him. He is proud too! This big boy even wakes me up at night to go potty, sometimes twice!

I'm Still Here

Back anyway, and now that I am back I realize the reasons that I haven't been bloggin' are, well, really rather lame.

Here are the top 3:

TOO BUSY/TIRED-really? who is NOT too busy or too tired??

SUMMER SCHOOL-9 hours, it is taking up WAY more time than I like, but really?

CAMP-you know the one...a couple of days here and there=TOO many!

I know, I know. LAME. I told you.

So, here are a few things that I have been doing since my last post.

We made it out to the ballpark to watch the Express. For this game we actually had seats down by 3rd base, but the boys wanted to watch from the home run porch. It was a Friday night game, so we were able to enjoy the fireworks afterward too.

Here is the entire family. This just does not happen that often. We got together to celebrate-Breann made cheerleader and Brenna made the Dean's List and turned 20!

We said good-bye to our Paw Paw on the 23rd. The service was on the 26th which was perfect since it was Memorial Day, and he was a WWII veteran. He was a quiet, strong, and faithful man. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed the boys and looked forward to our visits, first thing was always go give Paw Paw a high-five and tell him hi. We know that he is in Heaven and we will see him again someday. We will all miss him greatly.

The end of May was the end of school for many, but I started summer school. We have managed to make it to the park and the pool a time or two. The boys LOVE the pool. Other than having to wear a bathing suit, I do too.

I can't believe that June is almost over.

Celebrating Mom

Mother's Day 2008

This was the first year that we celebrated at my house and it was a wonderful time. Sister and I cooked up some Mexican food for Mom Sunday evening. I made those cheater enchiladas that T had on her blog and everyone loved them. Sister made tacos and brought dessert.

All the cousins had a blast together and they were still long enough for us to get this great picture. Can you believe every little one of them is actually looking at the camera and not making some weird face? Awesome.

I am so very, very blessed.
Happy Mother's Day!

Handprints

This isn't my first Mother's Day, but it is the first one that my sweet baby boys have been in school.

Is there any better Mother's Day card or gift than the ones your children make themselves especially for you?

With a little help from their wonderful teachers these are the cards I got today. I absolutely LOVE them and I will cherish them ALWAYS.

Pecan Street Festival

Today we hit our 4th festival in 4 weekends. It was hot, but we had a GREAT time. The boys enjoyed snow cones and pony rides. Here are just a few pictures. Enjoy!

Fridge

Michael has finally figured out how to open the refrigerator door causing much frustration. I don't know how many times I have gone in the kitchen and found the door wide open, nobody insight. For no reason, other than he can, he will stand there and just open and close, open and close the door. He is so proud that he is so strong. Fortunately, some of the newness and excitement of this achievement has worn off.

Another thing, why is there a 'd' in fridge, but not refrigerator???

National Day of Prayer

There are so many things that we need to pray for:
Our Nation, Our President, Our Leaders, Our Troops, Our Families, Our Children, Our Church, Our Schools, Our Communities, Peace, Health........

Prayer is so powerful.

Philippians 4:6
Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks.
